  3. Changing CRA leadership - Unfinished Business. Again, it's time to let leaders know the importance of: - getting it right, once and for all, by creating a more effective and efficient legislative and administrative base for the credits.

  4. Action
The Update outlines CATA's recent interventions to highlight the importance that the ITC sector gives to the SR&ED tax credits and the importance of improvements in light of the current economic challenges faced by firms in the sector.

In particular, CATA calls on the new Minister of National Revenue the Honourable Keith Ashfield to issue a cohesive and concrete plan to formalize the commitment his predecessor made early this January to improvements in the SR&ED Program. The Update focuses on the need for both legislative and administrative improvements that ensure that, once and for all, the program is stable and effective at supporting the R&D needed for the commercialization of Canadian advanced technologies used in our products and processes.
